Quick Online Research in the Cuyahoga County Auditor's & Recorder's Web sites
- http://auditor.cuyahogacounty.us/ (Auditor's web site)
- Select "Real Estate Property Information" on the main screen.
- In the left column you can search by owner's last name, parcel number, and AFN number. In the right column you can search by address. It is important to note that you can broaden your search to encompass a whole street which will enable you to assess all of the properties on that street.
- If you would like to see documents related to this property that were filed with the County Recorder's Office it is important to retain the most recent "Transfer Date." This date can be located by clicking ‘Transfer Date" tab at the top of your screen.
- Once you have the above listed information and the transfer date regarding your property you will be able to view documents related to that property (i.e. mortgage documents) by using the Cuyahoga County Recorder's Office searchable database.
- Go to http://recorder.cuyahogacounty.us/. Here you will be given the option to search the County recorder's database in the left hand column of the page under the heading "Search Database."
- Under this heading you can select either "General Search" or a "Parcel Search."
- From here you will enter the property information and date range. Note that the date range applies to the date in which the document(s) were filed with the County Recorder. The easiest way to determine this is by looking at the most recent "Transfer Date" for the property on the County Auditor site (see above).
- This resource can be found behind the main desk of the Business Department.
- By using this you will be able to find information relating to deed transfers for recently sold properties.
